Collection consists of correspondence, photographs, newspaper clippings and other memorabilia compiled during Helen Smoyer Pope's student years at Florida State College for Women. Notable photographs include those of Helen Keller and former congresswoman Ruth Bryan Owen, as well as FSCW faculty members Edward Conradi, Herman Kurz, and Lanas Spurgeon Barber.

Helen Adams Keller (1880-1968) devoted her life to bettering the education and treatment of the blind, the deaf, and the nonverbal, and was a pioneer in educating the public in the prevention of blindness in newborns. Dr. Herman Kurz was born in Iowa in 1886. He entered the University of Chicago in 1916 as a freshman at age 30 and received a BS degree in Botany.
